Dear CISD Community,

As part of our continued commitment to transparency throughout the budget planning process to address the fiscal challenges facing our district, I want to share this video from myself and our CISD Board of Trustees President, David Caviness. In this video, we share background on why our budget challenges and how we are working to increase revenue and decrease expenses, while continuing to provide a high quality education for our students.

I also want an update on the Board Workshop on the Budget held on Monday, April 8, at 5:30 pm in the CISD Board Room. At the start of the workshop, it was announced that CHS Associate Principal Zane Porter will become the Principal of New Tech High @ Coppell beginning in the 2024-2025 school year.

During the workshop, Trustees heard updates and discussed the following topics:

As you can see, a lot of data and information is being shared with our Board and community during this budget process. To stay informed and engaged, I encourage you to review the presentation shared tonight, which is available at www.coppellisd.com/boardbriefs, as well as the video from tonight’s Workshop, which should be available in the morning at www.coppellisd.com/o/cisd/page/board-meeting-video

Details on our budget and budget planning process are available at www.coppellisd.com/budget

We remain committed to providing information to our community after our Budget Workshops and Board Meetings. We also will continue to collect feedback from our community throughout this process through a variety of ways, including

  • Facebook Live Update on the 2023 Bond, Budget and Strategic Planning on Wednesday, May 1, at 6:30 p.m.

  • The community can share budget questions or feedback via email at input@coppellisd.com

I want to end this message by extending a sincere invitation to our community to actively participate in this crucial budget planning process. Your input and engagement are invaluable in shaping the future of Coppell ISD. We need to hear your thoughts, concerns and ideas to ensure that our budget aligns with the needs and aspirations of our students, educators, families and our community. Your attendance at our upcoming budget information sessions and your feedback are vital steps toward working together to address our budget challenges that reflect the priorities of our community.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our schools.

Sincerely,

Dr. Brad Hunt
Superintendent
Coppell Independent School District
