DLI

Overview

The Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program is the Bilingual Education model for Coppell ISD. DLI focuses on developing English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing through academic instruction in both English and Spanish. The goal of DLI is for students to become Bilingual and Biliterate with sociocultural competency.  

CISD offers a One-Way DLI program in PreKindergarten for qualifying, native Spanish learners.

CISD offers a Two-Way DLI program in Kindergarten through 5th grade for qualifying, native Spanish learners. Learners who do not qualify for entry into DLI may apply for the lottery to enter in Kindergarten or First grade.

DLI Campuses

Elementary Dual Language Immersion (English/Spanish) Campuses

  • Denton Creek Elementary (home campuses attending Denton Creek are: Canyon Ranch, Lakeside, Lee, Mockingbird, Town Center, and Valley Ranch)

  • Wilson Elementary (home campuses attending Wilson are: Austin, Cottonwood Creek, and Pinkerton)


Middle School Campuses

  • The Advanced Spanish courses for students who participated in Dual Language Immersion at Wilson Elementary or Denton Creek Elementary are available at CMS North. 


*If CMS North is not your middle school based on the attendance boundary, a transfer is required
