Ms. Alcorn started her school nursing career with CISD in 2000 and began coordinating the Health Services Department in 2012. Previously, Ms. Alcorn worked in the post-cardiac surgery, trauma, and general intensive care units in the hospital setting. Joyce holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgia State University and a Master of Education in School Nurse Education from Cambridge College, Boston. She is a nationally certified school nurse. Ms. Alcorn grew up in Ames, Iowa, and has lived in Coppell since 1993. She and her husband, Mark, have a son, Colin (NTH@Coppell '11), and a daughter, Erin (CHS '08). Joyce loves traveling, music, yoga, healthy cooking, reading, and especially her family.

Tara Hircock

Mrs. Hircock was born and raised in southern California.  She attended Biola University and graduated with her BSN in 2004.  Her nursing career has included time spent in inpatient post-surgical cardiac care/telemetry, med-surg, hospice, and ambulatory care/care management. She joined CISD in 2021, shortly after she and her family relocated to the DFW area.  Mrs. Hircock spends her free time with her husband and three boys. They are a very active family and enjoy spending weekends playing or watching sports, riding bikes, swimming, or going on walks with their family dog, Griffey. Mrs. Hircock's husband is from Washington State, so the whole family loves Seattle sports. Her favorite thing about being a school nurse is the conversations with the students because there is so much we can learn from listening to them. 

Britany Logan

Brittany is a Texas native and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tarleton State University in 2013. She worked for several years in the neonatal intensive care unit before taking 6 years as a stay-at-home mom. Brittany came to CISD in January 2023 as the district flex nurse, supporting all CISD campuses, and started full-time at Coppell High School in the fall of 2023. In her free time, Brittany enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her 3 children. Her favorite part of school nursing is building relationships with students and ensuring they know they are seen, valued, and loved.

Cristy Runyan

Cristy is a Texas native, born and raised in Houston. She graduated from The University of Texas in Austin in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After graduation, she moved to the DFW area and began her nursing career. Cristy joins us after a 19-year tenure at UTSW, where she primarily worked in the Medical-Surgical and Neuro ICUs. Cristy loves serving others, traveling, hiking, gardening, and, most of all, her family. Stop by and say hello; she's eager to meet you.

Becki Lander

Becki Lander started her school nursing career with CISD in 2015 at Lakeside Elementary and became the district's resource nurse in 2021, supporting all CISD campuses. Previously, Ms. Lander worked in labor and delivery, postpartum, well-baby nursery, and maternal-fetal medicine and was an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Ms. Lander earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman's University in 2004 and a Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2023. She is a nationally certified school nurse. She lives in Coppell with her four children.

Cindy Beasley

Ms. Beasley has been the school nurse at CMS East since 2008.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Women's University in Denton and before joining the East staff, she worked in Maternal/Child Health at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and as a childbirth educator at Baylor Medical Center in Grapevine.  Ms. Beasley has two Coppell grads, Nelson (2010) and Jack (2018).  A native of Texas, Ms. Beasley loves traveling, cooking, exercising with her four-legged friend "Miller," church activities, and spending time with family and friends.

Ms. Hyslop joined CISD in 2008 after several nursing experiences in women's services, including parent and childbirth education and her time as a discharge nurse and OB/GYN office nurse. Ms. Hyslop loves the Austin kids and feels school nursing is the perfect situation for her to use her teaching and nursing skills together. Originally from Indiana, she moved to Plano during high school. Ms. Hyslop is a graduate of Brookhaven College. She and her husband, Tommy, have three children, Emily, Riley, and Luke. Ms. Hyslop enjoys attending her children's activities, traveling, and reading.

Wendy Acker

Wendy started her nursing career with CISD at Canyon Ranch Elementary in 2022 and loves school nursing. Previously, Wendy has worked as a pediatric nurse in the hospital, pediatric office, and home settings. She earned an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1987 at New Hampshire Technical Institute and a Bachelor in Nursing in 1991 from the University of New Hampshire. Wendy is a certified pediatric nurse and a nationally certified school nurse. She is married to a high school physics and astronomy teacher and has two adult children. Wendy enjoys reading, baking, quilting, knitting, playing board games, nature photography, and hiking in her free time.

Sandra Brenneman

Ms. Brenneman began her career as a psychotherapist/counselor at the Vernon State Hospital, where she worked on an outpatient traveling treatment team. She obtained her teaching certifications in biology and psychology and taught high school biology and psychology for 22 years. More recently, Ms. Brenneman returned to school and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She joins CISD with experience in medical-surgical and school nursing.

Katie was born and raised here in Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas. Woo Pig! Prior to school nursing, she worked on the medical-surgical unit at Baylor Scott & White in Grapevine and renal unit at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. In her free time, she loves to take her dog on walks and spend time with her family. She enjoys getting to know Lakeside learners and always hopes that her clinic is a safe space for all. 

Annah Rose

Annah joined RJ Lee Elementary in 2021. Prior to school nursing, she was a pediatric nurse on a general pediatric floor for eight years and a telemetry nurse for a year and a half. She has a husband, two daughters, two dogs, and two guinea pigs. She loves reading, knitting, and spending time with her family. She loves getting to know the learners at Lee and feels blessed with the honor of caring for them while they are in school.

Ms. Rogers was born and raised in Dallas. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman's University. Before transitioning to school nursing, she worked in the Emergency Department at JPS County Hospital in Ft. Worth, TX, and as a Clinical Educator for a biopharmaceutical company. Ms. Rogers is passionate about school nursing and takes great pride in providing care and support to children in the school setting. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two children, Jaycie and Colt. As an outdoor enthusiast, she loves to travel with her family and engage in a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, and playing.

Abby Egan

Ms. Egan graduated from Purdue University (Boiler Up!) in 2012 as a second-career nurse. She worked as a hospital-based nurse for nine years across many settings and locations. More recently, Ms. Egan got her master's in nursing education from Purdue and worked as a clinical nursing instructor. After relocating to Coppell in 2021 with her family and enrolling her son within CISD, Ms. Egan decided to pursue school nursing. Ms. Egan finds school nursing the perfect opportunity to provide compassionate nursing care and education while serving her community! In her free time, Ms. Egan likes to spend time with her husband, son, family, and friends. She enjoys gardening, walking, traveling, and spending time in Northern Michigan.

Mrs. Crenshaw graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked at Baylor Scott and White-Irving in the Progressive Care Unit before coming to Coppell ISD. Before her nursing career began, she was a special education teacher for five years, teaching in Oklahoma City, OK and The Colony, Texas. Kristen is a Texas native and lives in the area with her husband, Blake, and their three children, Jordan, Julie, and Joanna. In her free time, Kristen enjoys shopping and anything to do with the outdoors—walking, running, swimming, and playing with her kids. She is excited to be back in the school setting and to start her career as a school nurse!

Kathleen Valenski

After spending twenty years as a Labor and Delivery nurse, Ms. Valenski became the school nurse for Valley Ranch Elementary. When asked what she enjoys about school nursing, Ms. Valenski says she loves to make children smile and the ability to help them feel better. Kathleen and her husband of twenty-five years have two children. Their daughter attends Oklahoma State University, and their son is a senior at Coppell High School. Other members of her family include her two golden retrievers and a pug. Ms. Valenski was born and raised in California. She holds a Bachelor of Nursing from Southern Oregon State University. Apart from family and school nursing, she enjoys reading, growing flowers, and learning to knit.

Cheryl Faulkner is a Texas native and joined Coppell ISD in 2011. Previously Ms. Faulkner worked in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit at the UT Southwestern Medical Center and in Urgent Care with Cook Children's Medical Center. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Harris College of Nursing at Texas Christian University and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Concordia University. Ms. Faulkner enjoys promoting health and wellness to Coppell ISD students and sharing with them how the body works. In her free time, Ms. Faulkner loves spending time with her family and crafting. She and her husband have two daughters.
