Programs in CISD

PRE-KINDERGARTEN
To be eligible for enrollment in a free pre-kindergarten class, a child must be at least four years of age on or before September 1 of the current school year and meet at least one of the listed eligibility requirements on the Pre-K website. LEARN MORE >

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math)
CISD launched a new program during the 2023-2024 school year that will continue its trajectory as a District of Innovation by offering a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) curriculum — including coding, robotics and the engineering design process — at all of its elementary schools. This instructional design will promote higher-level thinking and creativity for Kindergarten to 5th grade students in CISD. Each of CISD’s 11 elementary schools will have a fulltime STEAM educator.

DUAL LANGUAGE IMMERSION (ENGLISH/SPANISH)
All incoming kindergarten students are eligible to apply through the lottery process for dual language immersion program. First grade students are also eligible through the lottery process if space is available. LEARN MORE >

IB (INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE)
Pinkerton Elementary
- International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme Campus. All Kindergarten - 5th grade students across CISD are eligible to apply to attend Pinkerton Elementary. LEARN MORE >

Coppell High School - All students at CHS who are entering the 11th grade year may join the IB program as long as they are willing and able to undertake its requirements.

PROJECT BASED LEARNING HIGH SCHOOL
New Tech High @ Coppell - Empowering learners as they pursue their passions, collaborate to solve real world problems, and practice leadership in their community. We accomplish this purpose through a Project-Based Learning model in partnership with the New Tech Network.

GIFTED AND TALENTED
The CISD gifted and talented services are designed to provide appropriate educational experiences for those learners who perform at a remarkably high level of accomplishment or show the potential for performing at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to learners of similar age, experience, or environment. LEARN MORE >

ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP)
The Advanced Placement (AP) program was created to provide students with a college-level work in high school. There are currently 32 Advanced Placement Exams across 19 subjects offered each year. Students may earn college credit for their AP exam scores. LEARN MORE >

HONORS COURSES
Honors courses begin in middle school where all core courses (Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies) are offered to all learners.

DUAL CREDIT
CISD has partnered with North Lake College to give students an opportunity to earn college credit while in high school in over 60 courses. Students can choose to take as little as a single half-credit course or complete the 48-hour college "core" utilizing the CISD Jump Start on College Plan. LEARN MORE >

Clubs and Extracurricular at Each Campus

Canyon Ranch Elementary offers a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities for our learners including Choir, Technology Club with Wize Academy and Drama Club.

Cottonwood Creek Elementary offers a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities for our learners including Colt Chorale; Colt Stackers; Drama Club; Lego Robotics; Cooking; Coding; Running Club; Bicycling Club; Friday Football; Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts

Lakeside Elementary offers a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities for our learners including Yarn club, Kindness Club, Choir, Student Leadership, AV Club, DI, and Scouts.

Richard J. Lee Elementary offers STEAM and media classes,

Town Center Elementary offers a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities for our learners, including Robotics, Coding, Choir, Drama Club, STEM and Scouts.

Wilson Elementary offers a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities for our learners including art club, chef’s club, Bel Canto, First Lego League, garden club, geography club, green team, Harry Potter club, Math Olympiad, musical theater, Random Acts of Kindness (ROAK) club, robotics roundup, run club, Student Council, Tamba Marimba, and game club.

Coppell Middle School North offers a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities for our learners including Athletics, Fine Arts, Academic (science olympiad, math olympiad, UIL A+ Academics team) and Clubs (America 4 Africa, National Junior Honor Society, Student Council and Yearbook).

Coppell Middle School West offers a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities for our learners including Drama Club, Youth and Government, Athletics, Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, Band, Choir, Theatre Science Olympiad and Academic UIL.

Coppell High School offers more than 70 clubs and extracurricular activities for our learners including Academic Decathlon, Coppell Solar Car, Debate, National Technical Honor Society, Science Club, to name a few.
