We hope your spring is an enjoyable and relaxing one! This is the time of the year when we begin to focus on preparing for the next school year. 8th grade students have already participated in a variety of activities to prepare for their 9thgrade school year and transitioning to high school.
Counselors met with present 7th graders this week to share information about iWest, the new blended learning experience that will be taking place at West in the upcoming 2013-2014 school year at the 8th grade level. This is a great opportunity for students to learn face-to-face with their teachers and classmates while blending online learning experiences using new technology supplied by the school.
We will be hosting a special parent information night on Wednesday, May 15th, at 6:30 pm for 7th graders and their parents to learn more. Present 7th graders and their parents will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the CMS West cafeteria for more information about this new blended learning experience. Parents needing additional help or information can contact their student’s counselor at (214) 496-8614.
We hope that you will be able to join us for our end of the year “Grade Level Recognition Celebrations” this month. Our 7th graders will have their Recognition Celebration on Wednesday, May 29th beginning at 7:55 a.m. Our 6th graders will have their Recognition Celebration on Thursday, May 30th also beginning at 7:55 a.m. Both programs are in the West Auditorium. 8th graders will have their Recognition Celebration on Wednesday, June 5th beginning at 12:00 Noon in the West Auditorium.
Remember that CMS West Yearbooks will be distributed to students who have already ordered and paid for their yearbooks during the lunch periods on Thursday (May 23) and Friday (May 24). If you did not order a yearbook earlier this year, you can still purchase one of these beautiful memory books on Wednesday morning (May 29) and Thursday morning (May 30) while the limited supply lasts beginning at 7:00 a.m. in front of the Counseling Center. The price for yearbooks will be $50.00. If you need additional information, please contact yearbook sponsor Monica Champagne at mchampagne@coppellisd.com This is an exciting time to be in middle school, and the Coppell West staff would like to share with you their enthusiasm and passion for working for the successful learning of our students.Thank you for sharing your child with us each day as we strive to provide a positive and successful learning experience for all our students.
