Elizabeth Castillo Perez, a fifth-grade student in the Dual Language Immersion Program at Denton Creek Elementary and a rising sixth-grade student at CMS North, earned a top-10 finish at the 2026 Texas State Spanish Spelling Bee June 4, qualifying for the National Spanish Spelling Bee in Albuquerque, New Mexico., this July. Competing against 47 of the state's top students in grades 4–8, Elizabeth placed 10th after advancing through campus, district and regional competitions. Her achievement highlights her dedication to bilingualism, biliteracy and academic excellence, while showcasing the strength of Coppell ISD's Dual Language Immersion Program. Congratulations to Elizabeth on representing Coppell ISD on the state stage and earning the opportunity to compete nationally.
Elizabeth Castillo Pérez, alumna de quinto grado del Programa de Inmersión en Lenguaje Dual de la Escuela Primaria Denton Creek y próxima estudiante de sexto grado en CMS North, logró clasificarse entre los diez primeros puestos en el Concurso Estatal de Deletreo en Español de Texas (Texas State Spanish Spelling Bee) el 4 de junio, obteniendo así su pase para el Concurso Nacional de Deletreo en Español que se celebrará en julio en Albuquerque, Nuevo México. Tras superar las fases escolar, distrital y regional, Elizabeth obtuvo el décimo lugar compitiendo contra 47 de los estudiantes más destacados del estado, cursantes de los grados 4.º a 8.º. Su logro pone de relieve su dedicación al bilingüismo, la biliteracidad y la excelencia académica, al tiempo que demuestra la solidez del Programa de Inmersión en Lenguaje Dual de Coppell ISD.
