At the Sept. 29 Board Meeting, Coppell ISD Trustees officially approved Dr. Leanne Shivers as the district’s next superintendent.

“I am a product of public education, and I am here today because of teachers who poured into me, inspired me and helped transform a shy kindergartner into a confident student and leader,” Dr. Shivers said. “I am grateful to the incredible educators who shaped me, and I look forward to working alongside Coppell ISD’s teachers, staff, parents and community to continue building on this district’s legacy.”

Dr. Shivers added that she is committed to embracing the challenges ahead.

“I recognize that we have many big and weighty decisions that have to be made,” Dr. Shivers said. “But I am excited to embrace those decisions and to walk forward and partner with our parents and community, with our teachers and staff, and with our learners to see what the future holds for us.

Coppell ISD is a model student-centered district, and I am committed to ensuring it continues to thrive for decades to come. There truly is no place like CISD.”

Dr. Shivers will officially assume the role of CISD Superintendent on Oct. 7, with Interim Superintendent Doug Williams concluding his service to the district on Oct. 10.
