Congratulations toKCBY TV, the student-run broadcast journalism program and television station at Coppell High School, which was named a2026 Broadcast Pacemaker Award finalistby the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA),an honor widely regarded as the “Pulitzer” of scholastic journalism. KCBY TV isone of only three finalists in Texas and one of just 18 finalists nationwiderecognized for excellence in scholastic news broadcasting. This marks the10th Pacemaker finalist nomination for KCBY since 2015, with the program earning four Pacemaker Awards during that time. We proudly celebrate the leadership and dedication of adviserIrma Lazos Kennedy,along withSteven Jones,and the talented student journalists who continue to produce exceptional work. The 2026 Pacemaker winners will be announced Nov. 21 at the JEA/NSPA Fall National High School Journalism Convention in Orlando.
