Four CISD students have been named finalists in the 2026 I Am Texas writing and art contest hosted by The Bryan Museum, which celebrates student creativity and their connection to Texas history and culture. Canyon Ranch Elementary students Nikitha Ramakrishnan, for her letter “Dear Lady Bird Johnson,” and Ahon SenPaul, for “Dear William B. Travis,” were recognized in writing, while former Town Center Elementary and current CMS North student Ryan Zhang was named a finalist for his artwork Lone Star Memories and CMS North student Anshuk Gotur for his artwork The Blessing Cow. All finalists will be published in the 2026 Historian’s Journal, which will become part of The Bryan Museum’s permanent library collection, and will be invited to a special reception at the Museum in Galveston. Finalist artwork will also be on display from Oct. 7 through Nov. 22, with winners announced Sept. 28. Congratulations to these talented CISD students on this outstanding achievement!
