Valley Ranch Elementary has once again been recognized as a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, earning its Milestone 1 recertification on March 13 for the next two years. This distinction reflects the school’s strong commitment to leadership, student empowerment, and a culture rooted in the 7 Habits and core paradigms. Throughout the campus, leadership is not just taught — it is lived. From daily “Star Huddles” to student-led conferences and personalized leadership notebooks, students are actively engaged in setting goals, tracking progress and reflecting on their growth. The school’s intentional environment, rich with leadership visuals and opportunities, reinforces the belief that every student has unique strengths and the ability to lead.

The Lighthouse Review Team commended Valley Ranch for its inclusive and collaborative culture, where families are embraced as co-leaders and staff model lifelong learning through ongoing training and teamwork. Students take on meaningful leadership roles across campus, from Safety Patrol to Principal’s Cabinet, while also showcasing their talents during events like the Community Night Talent Show. Measurable gains in leadership, culture, and academics further highlight the school’s impact, including increases in family engagement, trusting relationships and student-led practices. With a continued focus on growth and reflection, Valley Ranch Elementary exemplifies what it means to empower every learner to lead. VRE Principal Cynthia Arterbery praised the collective effort, noting that the achievement reflects the dedication of students, staff and families working together to build a thriving leadership community.
