Krish Manjunath stands on a stage at the Scripps National Spelling Bee, facing a microphone while wearing a number tag on a lanyard. Behind Krish Manjunath, other contestants sit in rows of chairs. The stage features a large honeycomb-themed backdrop with the “Scripps National Spelling Bee” logo, bright blue lighting, and a large screen on the left displaying the student. CISD is "P-R-O-U-D" of CMS East 8th grade student Krish Manjunath, who advanced to the semifinals of the Scripps National Spelling Bee before being eliminated on May 27. The competition began with 247 competitors from across the country. Manjunath won the CISD Spelling Bee, the Dallas County Spelling Bee and was co-champion of the Dallas Regional Spelling Bee. Each year, more than 11 million students participate in the spelling bee process, and only about 0.002% advance to the national championship. We couldn't "bee" more proud of his success.
