Six Coppell ISD students have been named semifinalists in the 2026 I Am Texas writing and art contest hosted by The Bryan Museum. Recognized students include Nikitha Ramakrishnan, a second grader at Canyon Ranch Elementary, who earned semifinalist honors in both Letter Writing and Art; Ahon SenPaul, a fourth grader at Canyon Ranch Elementary, for Letter Writing; Mishita Garg, a seventh grader at Coppell Middle School North, for Writing; Ryan Zhang, a fifth grader at Town Center Elementary, for Art; and CMS North students Anshuk Gotur and Saanvi Gunjati for Art. Finalists will be announced Aug. 24 at www.iamtx.org. The contest began in 2022 through a partnership between The Bryan Museum in Galveston and the iWrite literacy organization in Houston, which collaborated to publish 1,000 student writers and artists in the Guinness World Record-breaking largest book in the world. Since then, the contest has continued to grow statewide, with winning students earning cash and publishing prizes.
