CISD will hold a public hearing on its Fiscal Year 2026-2027 proposed Budget and Tax Rates on Monday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. The hearing will take place at the Vonita White Administration Building located at 200 S. Denton Tap Road in Coppell. 

The proposed 2026-2027 General Fund Expenditure Budget is $162,039,609 with a Food Service Budget of $5,965,573 and the Debt Service Budget of $47,973,216.

The 2026-2027 proposed General Fund Budget has a deficit of $3,484,058, as the district has been able to reduce the deficit by about $4.7 million. Recapture to the state is estimated at $17.6 million.  Excluding recapture, the General Fund Budget breakdown is:

  • 72.8% Payroll

  • 21.7% Professional and Contracted Services

  • 5.5% Supplies and Other

The proposed Maintenance and Operations (M&O) tax rate is $0.7478, and the proposed Interest and Sinking (Debt Service) Tax Rate is $0.2379. 

CISD’s proposed overall tax rate for 2026-2027 will be a total of $0.9857 per $100 in assessed property value, which is a total tax rate increase of $0.0038 per $100 in assessed value.
