During its Sept. 28 meeting, the Coppell ISD Board of Trustees recognized students who earned national honors and championships, celebrating accomplishments that reflect the exceptional educational experiences and opportunities available to CISD learners. Trustees also approved the CISD Compensation Manual, the 2027 Board Legislative Priorities, 2026-2027 Campus Improvement Plans and other action items, while receiving reports and updates from the Coppell ISD Education Foundation and the Pinkerton, Wilson and Denton Creek transition.
During Board Awards, CISD Trustees and Superintendent Dr. Leanne Shivers recognized:
CHS Junior Yeseul Bak for placing 5th at the National Future Educators Conference
CMS North 6th Grader and former Denton Creek Elementary Student Elizabeth Castillo Pérez for placing 8th in the National Spanish Spelling Bee (shown in photo above)
