During the May 20 Board Meeting, Place 6 Trustee Nichole Bentley and Place 7 Trustee Jobby Mathew were administered the Statement of Officer and Oath of Office. Trustees elected Trustee David Caviness as the Board President. Trustee Nichole Bentley as the Board Vice President and Trustee Jobby Mathew as the Board Secretary. Also at the meeting:
Trustees approved the purchase of dishwashers at Lakeside and Wilson Elementary schools from Mission Restaurant Supply at a cost not to exceed $120,000 to come from Child Nutrition funds;
The Board approved United Rentals for an Articulating Boom Lift for a total cost not to exceed $84,000 using 2016 Bond funds;
Trustees approved the monthly budget amendments for May 2024; and
The Board approved the Financial Report for April 2024.
During the Board Awards, Trustees and Superintendent Dr. Brad Hunt recognized the following:
CISD 2023-2024 Elementary Teacher of the Year Heather Naragon from Austin Elementary;
CISD 2023-2024 Secondary Teacher of the Year Chase Wofford from Coppell High School;
Victory Place Social Studies Teacher Diane de Waal for 35 years of service to CISD; and
CHS English Teacher Kim Pearce for 40 years of service to CISD.
The Board also heard the following reports:
Chief Financial Officer Diana Sircar, Bond Oversight Committee Co-Chair Steven Solka and Committee Secretary Carol Lacey McGuire shared an update on the Bond Oversight Committee.
Coordinator of Health Services Joyce Alcorn and Parent Co-Chair Wednesday Foster shared the 2023-2024 School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) report.
Chief Communications Officer Angela Brown gave a presentation on the 7.1.1 Strategic Plan Implementation Team Evaluation Tool.
