Congratulations to Canyon Ranch Elementary student Nikitha Ramakrishnan, who earned an Honorable Mention in Letter Writing in the 2026 I Am Texas Writing and Art Contest hosted by The Bryan Museum in Galveston. Ramakrishnan was recognized for her letter, “Dear Lady Bird Johnson,” written as part of the elementary letter-writing category celebrating a Texas or personal hero. The statewide contest, launched in 2022 through a partnership between The Bryan Museum and iWrite, features student artists and writers in grades 2–12 and provides opportunities for students to have their work published and earn cash and other prizes. Each finalist’s work will be published in the 2026 I Am Texas Historian’s Journal, which will become part of The Bryan Museum’s permanent library collection.
