New Tech High @ Coppell Class of 2025 graduates Aditya Tummala and Ananya Patel have earned the prestigious Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma. The AP Capstone Diploma program helps students develop critical thinking, research, collaboration and presentation skills that are essential to academic and career success. They were led in this process by New Tech teachers Grace Hedges and Sam Uglow.

“We proudly celebrate the achievements of Aditya and Ananya and their participation in the AP Capstone Diploma program,” said New Tech High @ Coppell Principal Zane Porter. “Under the guidance of our exceptional teachers, our AP Capstone students explored their passions through scholarly research in an impactful, multi-year program.”

Tummala is currently studying at the University of Texas at Austin, and Patel is studying at the University of Pittsburgh.

To earn the AP Capstone Diploma, students must earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar, AP Research and on four additional Advanced Placement® (AP®) Exams of their choice.

During the 2024-25 school year, more than 160,000 students in over 3,500 schools worldwide participated in AP Capstone. Of these participants, only 17 percent of students earned the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma.

AP Seminar and AP Research assessments are project-based and evaluate skills mastery through group projects, presentations, and individual essays completed throughout the year. AP Seminar and AP Research are interdisciplinary. Students are encouraged to create research projects based on topics of personal interest and are assessed on the critical thinking, research, collaboration, time management, and presentation skills needed to complete their projects.

🚀 Worldbuilding & storytelling magic in English 2 today!
With Mr. Holmes facilitating, learners dove deep into imagination and collaboration — so deep, they lost track of time and were still brainstorming as the (metaphorical) bell rang. 🔔💭

🔍 AP World History learners are on the move today! They’re following a question trail around the room, choosing from four options at each stop, and tracking the path they believe leads to the correct answers.

From ancient civilizations to policies, religions, and governments. they’re diving deep into the foundations of our world. 🌎✨
