Congratulations to rising Coppell Middle School North sixth grader Elizabeth Castillo Pérez, who recently completed fifth grade in the Denton Creek Elementary Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program and placed 8th in the National Spanish Spelling Bee on July 11. Competing against students from across the United States, Castillo Pérez was one of only five participants making their first appearance at the national competition. She advanced through multiple rounds, demonstrating perseverance, dedication and a commitment to bilingualism and biliteracy. Her achievement reflects the hard work, determination and support of her family, teachers and the Coppell ISD community.
Felicitaciones a Elizabeth Castillo Pérez, futura estudiante de sexto grado en Coppell Middle School North, quien recientemente concluyó el quinto grado en el programa de Inmersión en Dos Idiomas (DLI) de Denton Creek Elementary y obtuvo el 8.º lugar en el Concurso Nacional de Deletreo en Español el 11 de julio de 2026. Compitiendo contra estudiantes de todo Estados Unidos, Castillo Pérez fue una de solo cinco participantes que debutaban en la competencia nacional.
