Coppell ISD has received the July 28 communication from Attorney General Ken Paxton saying that school districts can override the public health authority orders with local decisions. CISD recently announced August 17 as our new first day of school, as approved by our Board. 

A Board of Trustees Workshop will be held on Monday, August 3, to discuss this change in guidance and consider whether any action is necessary for the successful opening of our 2020-2021 school year. We appreciate your patience as we continue to work through this new information.
