Student Transfer (Intra-District) for 2021-2022

Open for students who reside in the Coppell ISD boundaries AND are currently enrolled in a Coppell ISD school and would like to request a transfer to another Coppell ISD school. Students must complete a transfer request form annually.
All students attending their current school on a transfer must complete a transfer request form to remain at the transfer school for the 2021-2022 school year. -
There were two opportunities to request a student transfer for the 2021-2022 school year.
- The first transfer opportunity: March 1-31
- Families notified of transfer decisions on or after April 23, 2021
- The second opportunity: June 1 - July 9
- Families notified of transfer decisions on or July 30, 2021
Decisions are final and cannot be appealed. - The first transfer opportunity: March 1-31

Student Transfer (For CISD Employees)
- Inter-District Transfers: Full-time CISD employees not living within the Coppell ISD boundaries have an option of transferring their child(ren) to CISD schools.
- Intra-District Transfers: Full-time CISD employees living within the Coppell ISD attendance boundaries may request to transfer their child(ren) to a different school zone within CISD.
The transfer window for Current Employees (Inter-District and Intra-District) Transfers opens March 1, 2021 at 8:30 am and will close March 31, 2021 at 4:30 pm. Newly hired employees may apply when hired. -
Open Enrollment
Children living in the City of Coppell, Texas, but not residing within the CISD school attendance zone
- Open Enrollment applications will be accepted starting June 9, 2021 through July 9, 2021. Parents will be notified by August 2, 2021 if their applications have been approved or denied.
- The campus location will be assigned to the student by the District (campus requests cannot be made).
- Open Enrollment is approved based on availability. Additional Open Enrollment criteria is posted online.

Employee Student Transfer
CISD Employee Children Resident & Non-Resident
- The children of staff members are accepted and considered on a space-available basis and must be submitted annually during the designated window (March 1st – March 31st).
- Additional employee student transfer criteria are listed in the employee transfer agreement.
- Employees must arrange for before-and/or after-school care, since their children shall not be permitted to wait with them at their work stations, or in their classrooms during this time.
- Staff members that reside outside of CISD must complete a transfer application prior to applying for the Dual Language Immersion or IB Programs.

Student DLI Placement through the lottery process – Elementary Level Only (Dual Language Immersion)
- DLI is offered at the Elementary Level only in Coppell ISD.
- Students receive placement in the DLI program through a lottery process. If a student is placed in the DLI program, they remain in the program through grade 5 – no transfer request is needed.
- If a student that is in the DLI program has a sibling, and the sibling is not participating in DLI, the sibling will need a transfer request each year.

Secondary Advanced Spanish Language Courses
- DLI is not currently offered in Coppell ISD at the secondary level, however, learners that have previously participated in the Elementary DLI program may enroll in Advanced Spanish Language Courses at Middle School North. If this is not your home-zoned campus a transfer request is required annually.

Student IB Placement through the lottery process– Elementary Level Only
- Students receive placement in the IB program through a lottery process.
- The student will remain in the IB program through grade 5 and no transfer application is required.

Secondary IB Program
- IB is not currently offered in Coppell ISD at the middle school level, however, learners that have previously participated in the Elementary IB program at Pinkerton may continue with their learning cohort and attend Middle School East. If this is not your home-zoned campus a transfer request is required.
