August 12, 2025
Dear Coppell ISD Community,
We want to share an important update regarding the future of New Tech High @ Coppell (NTH@C) and how this decision supports our district’s long-term planning and fiscal responsibility.
Board Decision
At the August 11 Special Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees approved Interim Superintendent Doug Williams’ recommendation to relocate a reimagined NTH@C onto the Coppell High School campus beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.
Why This Direction Was Recommended
This decision addresses:
Declining enrollment and fiscal responsibility, ensuring efficient delivery of services without compromising program quality.
Program sustainability, securing the long-term viability and enrollment growth of New Tech High @ Coppell.
Savings of at least $1.4 million with the relocation of NTH@C onto the CHS campus for the 2026-2027 school year.
What This Means for Our Community
NTH@C will remain open as a separate school, offering enhanced opportunities for student choice and innovation. This is not a closure or a consolidation, but a strategic transition to preserve the program’s strengths and integrity.

This decision is rooted in the district’s commitment to a multi-year balanced budget effort and to providing an educational choice to students. We look forward to working together on a bright path forward for all Coppell ISD students.
Sincerely,
