Rising Coppell Middle School North sixth-grader and former Denton Creek Elementary student Elizabeth Castillo Perez recently represented Coppell ISD on the national stage at the 2026 National Spanish Spelling Bee, held July 10-11 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She competed after earning a top 10 finish at the Texas Spanish Spelling Bee in June and proudly represented Coppell ISD among the nation's top Spanish spellers. ¡Estamos orgullosos! We are proud of Castillo Perez for her dedication, perseverance and outstanding accomplishment. A special thank you to Denton Creek Elementary fifth-grade Dual Language Immersion teacher Christine Scovill for coaching Castillo Perez and accompanying her to the national competition.
