The Coppell ISD Board of Trustees recognized the district's Communications and Community Engagement Department during its July 27 meeting for earning a National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Golden Achievement Award for the district's Cowboys United marketing campaign.
Trustees also heard reports and discussed:
2026-2027 Budget Planning
Child Nutrition, including increasing breakfast prices by $0.50 a meal and lunch prices by $0.25 a meal
Debt Service, including sharing the proposed tax increase of $1.77 in the newspaper ad posting deadline of July 31 ahead of the Aug. 10 Budget Board Workshop and Aug. 24 Budget and Tax Rate Hearing/Adoption
Board Action and Consent Items Highlights:
The Board approved the Charge to the 2027 Bond Steering Committee.
Trustees approved the Vendors for Informal Catalog Bids for SY2026-2027.
Trustees approved the purchase of Child Nutrition Dish Machines for various campuses for a cost of $306,059 with a 10% contingency with funds to come from the voter-approved 2023 Bond.
The Board approved a Good Cause Exception Resolution for Armed Security Staffing, as required under House Bill 121.
Trustees approved adoption of the Coppell ISD 2026-2027 Student Code of Conduct.
The Board approved the 2026-2027 Appraisal Calendar and Second Appraisers.
Trustees approved the Interlocal Agreement by and between the Metrocrest Hospital Authority and the Coppell Independent School District.
The Board approved the renewal of membership in Walsh Gallegos' Legal Services Retainer Program for 2026-2027
Trustees approved the monthly budget amendments for July 2026 and the Financial Report for June 2026.
